Kleingarten is a project organized by Kweku Okokroko and Leonard Schwarz. A two-year, five-series exhibition at the Fiktive Kollektiv artspace at Stuwerstraße 33,1020 Vienna, Austria, from 2024 to 2025,. The project brought together Artists of various disciplines in formats of painting, sculpture, drawing, film and performance, in an exhibtion context titled Kleingarten ie. Small Garden. An excerpt of the concept introduction for the first Open Call of the project reads ‘‘…We aim to create the feeling of a small garden in a small room, shared amongst artist and friends. An environment of care, growth, unity, comfort and community.’’
In the summers of 2024 and 2025, Kleingarten featured prominently in the summer activities of the city of Vienna. The project successfully created indeed a ‘‘small garden’’ where all could come to enjoy art, socialize amongst friends and meet new people.
